Let's start from the beginning.

Mr. Honda and I wanted a place to chronicle all the hard work we'll be putting in to our future nuptials. But before we go any further...I think it's only right we start off with the proposal story. After all, that's where this story begins.

Mr. Honda and I have been together for quite some time now. We'll be going on 7 years this coming April. And in this time we have vacationed in many places like Hawaii, Mexico, SoCal, and Tahoe. But of all the places we've vacationed, the one place we frequent the most is Las Vegas.

This year we were able to get away to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. We spent 9 hours driving down on Thanksgiving day. I had been begging Mr. Honda to make reservations for Thanksgiving dinner, but he kept putting it off. When he informed me that we had made dinner reservations I assumed we were having a really late dinner. Needless to say I was surprised when we checked into our hotel room and he told me to get showered and dressed because we had dinner reservations at 5:30.

We got dressed, hopped into the car, and headed to Mandalay Bay. Mr. Honda had made reservations at Strip Steak. Right as we checked in for our dinner reservations Mr. Honda bolted saying he needed to use the restroom. I saw him heading one way and I pointed out there was a restroom closer, but he ignored me. I was seated at our table and waited for his return. I waited and waited. He was taking so long that I was starting to worry that something was wrong. Just as I was about to call to see if he was okay, Mr. Honda walked up to the table. He sat down and we chowed down on what may have been the MOST delicious meal of my life! We nibbled on some complementary duck fat fries and potato bread as we waited for our main course of which consisted of a kobe filet, kobe burger, and truffle oil mac and cheese. We topped it all off with my favorite dessert creme brulee.

After dinner we were heading back to the car when we slowed down so that I could drool over the Lion King theater. I had been dying to see the Lion King, but when we looked at ticket prices while planning our trip Mr Honda said they were just too expensive. Mr. Honda asked if I was ready to head back to our hotel and rest before going out to gamble the night away. I nodded and agreed. It had been a long day and I was ready for a nap. However, Mr. Honda said our nap would have to wait as he pulled 2 tickets to the Lion King out of his jacket pocket. I was so thrilled! All I could think was that I have the BEST man in the world.

We handed our tickets to the usher who scanned our tickets and we walked in. Mr. Honda took my hand and led me to the center of the theater lobby where he held my hands and hugged me. He then pulled a little blue box out of his jacket pocket and got down on one knee. He opened up the box to uncover a beautiful ring as he asked me to marry him. With tears in my eyes I said, "Of course!" As we hugged and he slipped the ring on my finger and nice gentleman who had seen the whole thing came over and said, "Say YES!"

It was the best day of my life. And here we are now, planning the biggest day of our lives.

-Future Mrs. Honda
